Intersecting ribbons #2

output-162910-Custom The content that follows was originally published on the Don Havey website at http://donhavey.com/projects/landscape-ribbons/

Automatically generated compositions of intersecting 3-dimensional colored ribbons. Originally intending to create abstract hilly landscapes, this series ended up being more about the combination of colors and strange overlapping spaces created by densely packed ribbons.

The resultant waveforms have a richness to them despite being generated from a handful of primary colors and very simple shapes. Rendering artifacts (e.g. shader triangles) were left intact for texture and because I enjoy the glitch aesthetic. Another classic example of approaching a project with an idea and ending up somewhere else completely.

Created in Processing.
